Vocational REHABILITATION Services

Vocational rehabilitation comprises of counselling, comprehensive assessments, and interventions pertaining to employment such as:
  • Vocational Interest assessments
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
  • Cognitive FCE for Concussions/mTBI
  • Work hardening programs
  • Transfer of skills assessments
  • Ability psychometric testing
Vocational rehabilitation is often accessed for recovery from the effects of a physical injury occurring at work or motor vehicle accident. Getting properly assessed and treated can get you back on the job and prevent long term disability and depression.

There are many devices and techniques used during functional evaluations:
  • Manual muscle tests to determine your level of strength
  • Range of motion testing with a goniometer
  • Physical conditioning with a step, stairs, or treadmill.
Occupational therapists are trained to accurately gauge one's level of pain and disability, positional tolerances, psychological factors, and readiness to return to work.

Vocational interest assessments and psychometrics are used to match a person to a job that would be a good fit for them. By receiving an assessment of this kind, much of the guess work for determining a suitable career match is eliminated.
